
Maintenance Mechanic - Major #806V
The program map below represents an efficient and effective course taking sequence for this program. Individual circumstances might require some changes to this path. It is always recommended that you meet with your pathway counselor to develop a personalized educational plan.
This program provides skills needed by maintenance mechanics for various industries in MIG welding, equipment repair, machining, lathe, hydraulics, pneumatics, industrial electrical systems, power transmission components and mechanical systems, use of power tools, troubleshooting and maintenance and/or repair of industrial system equipment. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded for successful completion of all CTC Maintenance Mechanic courses (MM-370, MM-371 and MM-372) with a minimum "C" grade. All courses must be completed in one continuous flow with set order. There will be no entering and exiting the program to accommodate schedules. If a course is not completed, with a passing score, the entire series of courses must be repeated.
- 1. Demonstrate satisfactory knowledge of industrial electricity fundamentals, motors, circuit types, variable frequency drives, schematics, symbols, electrical test instruments, vocabulary and troubleshooting for non-electrical workers and/or technicians as needed by maintenance mechanics.
- 2. Demonstrate satisfactory knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drive fundamentals, power transmission components and systems, schematics, pumps, actuators, valves, pipes and fittings, oils and lubrication.
- 3. Demonstrate satisfactory knowledge of Mig welding processes, various equipment maintenance and/or repairs, common hand tools, threads and fasteners, parts and operation of engine lathes, milling machines, drill presses and precision measuring tools.
