Designed for the student needing to complete the Standards and Training for Corrections (STC) Probation Officer Core Course to become a County Probation Officer in the State of California.

Upon completion of the program, students will:
  1. 1. Identify the responsibilities of a County Probation Officer for the State of California.
  2. 2. Distinguish the responsibilities of the probation officer when a minor is taken into custody using the Welfare and Institutions Codes 625, 627 and 627.5.

This course is required for all newly hired Probation Officers and will teach them the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their duties. Meets certification requirements for California Standards and Training for Corrections. Materials fee and parking will be charged. Course physical training attire will need to be purchased once student has been accepted into course.
