Designed for the student needing to complete the Standards and Training for Corrections (STC) Juvenile Corrections Officer Core Course to become a Juvenile Corrections Officer in the State of California.

Upon completion of the program, students will:
  1. 1. Identify the responsibilities of a Juvenile Corrections Officer in the State of California.
  2. 2. Identify the characteristics of the profession of the Juvenile Correctional Officer.
  3. 3. Describe the procedures a Juvenile Correctional Officer must perform from arrest to disposition of a juvenile offender.

This course provides the essential knowledge and skills for all newly hired Juvenile Correctional Officers to meet the performance standards required and to help them obtain maximum benefit from subsequent on-the-job training. This course meets the certification requirements set by the California Standards and Training for Corrections (STC). Materials fee will be charged.
