The Associate in Arts in Global Studies for Transfer degree is designed for students who plan to complete a bachelor's degree in a similar major at a CSU campus, to include Global Studies, Global Politics, International Relations, International Studies and Comparative Government. This degree will acquaint students with the interdisciplinary field of global studies and introduce students to various global issues with a focus on the analysis of causes and solutions. To earn the Associate in Arts in Global Studies for Transfer students must complete at least 60 required semester units of CSU-transferable coursework, including the Cal-GETC requirements, and at least 18 units within the major. Students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA, including grades of C (or 'P') or higher in each course taken to fulfill the major. Local graduation requirements are not required for the transfer degree. Students should consult with a counselor for more information on transfer requirements and university admission.

1. Explain the various meanings of globalization and identify regional differences.

3. Critically evaluate the effectiveness of national, regional and international efforts to solve problems associated with global issues.

2. Explain recurring and emerging global issues from a historical and interdisciplinary perspective.
