Description

The Associate in Arts in Economics for Transfer degree is designed for students who plan to complete a bachelor's degree in a similar major at a CSU campus. This degree will acquaint students with the fundamentals of economic thinking and the principle concepts and theories of macroeconomics and microeconomics. Additionally, the degree will offer students the math and statistics preparation required for upper division coursework in economics. To earn the Associate in Arts in Economics for Transfer students must complete at least 60 required semester units of CSU-transferable coursework, including the Cal-GETC requirements, and at least 18 units within the major. Students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA, including grades of C (or 'P') or higher in each course taken to fulfill the major. Local graduation requirements are not required for the transfer degree. Students should consult with a counselor for more information on transfer requirements and university admission.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
1. Understand and apply basic economic methodology to describe, analyze and explain human behavior and societal challenges.
2. Apply principle microeconomic and macroeconomic concepts, theories and models to describe, analyze and explain relevant economic issues.
