Psychology is a useful major for students with a variety of interests and career goals due to its emphasis on critical thinking, the scientific method of inquiry, and the interactive role that biological, psychological, developmental, and sociocultural factors play in affecting human behavior and mental processes. The Associate in Arts in Psychology for Transfer degree is designed for students who plan to complete a bachelor's degree in a similar major at a CSU campus. To earn the Associate in Arts in Psychology for Transfer degree, students must complete a minimum of 60 required semester units of CSU-transferable coursework, including the Cal-GETC requirements and 19-20 semester units within the major. Students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA, including grades of C (or 'P') or higher in each course taken to fulfill the major. Local graduation requirements are not required for the transfer degree. Students should consult with a counselor when planning to complete the degree for more information on university admission and transfer requirements.
